Francis Bebey France
Francis Bebey (1929-2001) was born in Douala. He is considered one of the pioneers of West African music. He was also a
singer and guitarist, but also a poet, storyteller and a great sanza player.
He won the prize for French song in 1977 before devoting himself to more poetic and serious works.
After playing in the most famous venues in the world, he recorded Dibiye for Pee Wee Music in 1997.
